faulty rear electric window

Featured Replies

hi have skoda octavia tdi 51 reg noticed rear electric window not working , you can hear switches clicking but it not going up or down , any ideas

Broken window regulator.

I shouldn't play with it too much until you get the chance to sort it either. If it is a broken regulator, that window could easily drop inside the door.

I had the same symptoms which I initially lived with it until the central locking stopped working on the same door. I found that the +'ve feed wires (one for the central locking & one for the window) had completely broken where it flexes as it passes from the car body to the door.

You could check this by checking that you have voltage at the appropriate terminal at the window regulator connector.

Note: Check the fuses first, it may save you wasting time taking the door apart.
