Audi A2 stereo fit help!

Featured Replies

Hi guys. My brother has a 2002 Audo A2 with the Audi Concert CD player in. He wants to replace it with an aftermarket. Normally I just whip the old one out and stick a new one in. This time though I can get no power to the new unit. I have tested the stereo and loom in my Ceed and it worked straight away. What am I doing wrong?? Any ideas...?

it looks like it should be a straight swap, have you checked that both power feeds in the A2 are giving you 12 volts using a voltmeter, the concert will work even if a fuse has blown in one of its power feeds whereas the aftermarket unit may not.

Do you mean the aftermarket unit has no power in the A2?

If so, I expect it to be a canbus issue. Canbus has no ignition live. If you swap the ignition live and perm live over it should turn on but will always have a feed and drain the battery. Your choices are run a cable from the fusebox to the headunit (finding a switched live in the fuse box) OR get a harness which fixes it. Connects2 make one for the mk2 octy but its pricey, £40

I tried swapping over the cables but still had no power. I'm starting to think it is the dodgy adaptor my bro bought off ebay. I didnt know he got it from there until just now!!
