Wheels Sealed

Featured Replies

Took the opportunity today, even though it was a touch under 3 degrees but plenty sunny enough, to take my 8 week old wheels off for the second time to re-apply some chemicals :) I had recently hit a few major sized pot holes in the dark at 60/65 so wanted to check no noticeable damage to the rims, if nothing else.

Started with a quick wash with AG Shampoo/Conditioner around the tyre inside and out the alloy. Gave the caliper assembly and hub face a quick sponge over too.

Dried off the alloy and tyre walls with multiple Microfibre cloths. Then applied AG SRP on each wheel, buffed off after 15 mins. Then grabbed for the collinite 845 (and I still can't believe how good that stuff is to use and then to admire afterwards).. The wheels are outstandingly shiny and smooth (although for the negatives it does show the minor chips and scratches from day to day poor road surfaces). And finally I applied some Meguiars Endurance Tyre Gel with the sponge applicator.

Before putting the wheels back on just a touch of copper grease on the hub face and wheel bolts. Also gave the calipers a once over with the collinite residue on the MF cloths.

Very pleased as always with the results!

Pictures below  I will finish the car off tomorrow, got a few stone chips to cover and then whip out the polish and wax. Looks so very nice in the sunlight!

Well done!

Those are nice wheels and certainly worth a bit of TLC to keep them in great condition.

(What model are they?)

17" Dark Chrome Gigaro (7Jx17) - I thought the best looking for the Fabia II vRS in my colour scheme.

Cheers!

A very worthwhile job and very nice wheels as well...........;)

I really want to find myself a newish second hand pair of white gigaro alloys, just for the option of quick tyre changes.. but can't bring myself to paying £136 per corner for brand new
