Managed to finally get my hidden subwoofer (sits inside the spare wheel) and amp wired in and it sounds awesome but I think the speakers let it down a little.

I want to replace the speakers with something better but I don't want to run speaker cable all the way to the front of the car although I don't mind doing it for the back. Is it going to be pointless to upgrade the speakers if I don't run cable to the front from the amplifier? I've got a Alpine headunit which is quite nice but it is 4x50w max or 18 watts rms which is pretty pants! Will that be enough to keep the sound balanced?

Fronts are always gona be your main speakers these days bud

Tbh cables are easy to sneak up the front even if u wana leave seats in

U can get them in a channel thats under the side trim

That said... Back in the day didnt we all just mainly power up our 6x9s or 7x10s

Oooor just swap over to the alpine e type comps mate, they seem to be cool for the money from what i ready amd alpine heads give nice sound too, prob a hpf to cap the speakers off seeing u got the sub

All in all i reken ud be happy with the etypes bud

Cheers for the info, I've seen mention of the E types on here before and am definitely tempted. I actually ran the amp power cable down one o the door channels under the strip and it wasn't too hard. How hard is it to get the audio cable into the door? I'm also assuming I'll have to route on cable down the drivers side of the car then shoot it across to the passenger side to avoid interferance with the power cable ?

Yeah as a rule u usually keep them seperated best you can mate

Getting into the doors isnt to bad.... Iirc there a rubber tube thingy that tried my patience but that said it doesnt take much

U could try direct swap the e types and see how u feel bud

Then could always amp them up at a later date

The most fiddly bit is the drivers door panel cos of the handle

Although my minds went bloody blank how it comes off lol sorry mate
