FOR SALE - *Damaged* Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini

Featured Replies

Afternoon all

Mrs Pasty upgraded just before Christmas and loved the phone; right up until it fell out of her gym bag onto a tiled changing room floor and the touch-screen smashed.

The phone, LCD and touch screen all still function perfectly but the screen is seriously damaged.

We "repaired" it with a clear screen protector to avoid shards in the finger but she's still not happy so has moved back to her HTC.

I've spoken to a couple of local companies about fixing it and have had quotes around £100-120 for a new screen.

No idea what it's worth to anyone but I'd rather someone had it and used it than it got "recycled"

Carphonewarehouse sell them SIM free for £300

so this one locked to O2 i guess should be £250?

repairs at £150 max

so sell for £100?

Can you post a picture

cracks are only hairline and i'm pretty sure most don't even go all the way through the screen

if you are good at electronics, the replacement part is only £15.

If only I was in Swindon, could of fixed this for you :(

To help, a guide on how to pull the phone apart:

Sadly, I can't find a new screen for the i8190 for under £95..... Message a seller and make a 'best offer' ;)

I watched that very same video rob and found the same eBay item.

For the cost she decided it'd be easier to go back to HTC and try to get rid of the broken hand set.

Worst case it goes to mazuma for £50...

The problem with the new Samsungs is that they use a specific sealed screen unit- you can't separate the digitiser, LCD and screen without either specialist stuff or a lot of hassle... found out the hard way when my Note smashed.

Good luck with the sale. Bargainous.

Yeah that seemed to be the verdict of the man in the shop and the items on eBay.

"but I don't NEED a new LCD. Well I'm afraid it doesn't matter"

Phone however is sold to a man who hash friend in the biz who can fix at cost.

They have indeed got a bargain!
