Octavia vRS 2010 petrol, owned it for about a month, drives fine but it sounds very tapy when it idles, only really noticeable outside the car, is this normal?

I quickly noticed this on my 2011 TSi and also on various others at work and around. Plenty of forum chat on here reveals it to be a normal trait on these.

High pressure fuel pump probably, as above plenty of feedback elsewhere. Mine did it from new.

direct injection causes the ticking sound. as mentioned, its normal
