I picked up my VRS on Thursday and, so far, I'm absolutely over the moon with it.

I'm a bit confused about the Bluetooth streaming, though. I can connect my iPhone 5 and play music quite successfully. For some reason, though, the track cannot be advanced by pressing the buttons on the steering wheel. I can use the voice control to advance the track, so the car seems capable of controlling the iPhone. I would have expected the buttons to just work?

No the steering wheel won't be able to control the iPhone, only when it's connected via mdi

Yes unfortunately the VAG bluetooth systems dont support device control. I had a Kia Ceed as a rental on holiday and that let you skip tracks etc which was impressive.

I've a Bolero stereo and fitted the vw 7p6 unit myself and I can skip tracks (iPod function and spotify) using the stereo and maxidot column stalk.
