I know this topic has been covered many many times.

But there don't seem to be a conclusive answer to this.

May I just summarise what I concluded:

1. U can extend your 1st 3 years (2 years unlimited + 1 year 60k) to 4 or 5 years when u order your new car

2. It is also possible to extend if within 3 years, and u have not breach the 60,000miles limit to extend to 4th or 5th year

3. But, if there is a breach of 60k (on the 3rd year) or there is a breach in the warranty (say not service according to the Manufacturers service schedules) - then u cannot extend the 4th or 5th year.

4. BUT, and a big BUT, some Skoda Dealers (not SUK) will sell "their" extended warranty for a heafty £300+ per year (or £600+ per 2 years) with extra £50(?) per year for RAC recovery...

...If and ONLY if u pay for an inspection by them and any issues - fixed/paid for before the extended warranty starts?

Now, I am not interested in any other warranty (be it Tesco Finest, or RAC or Warranty Wise).

I just want a Skoda extended warranty (maybe I am mad - or maybe not!).

Can I ask:

1. If my above conclusion are correct?

2. What are u paying for Extended Warranty (not the SUK extension of 4/5 years)

3. What does the Extended Warranty cost (from Skoda Dealers - NOT SUK)

4. What does the RAC cover and cost separately?

My car is coming up to 3 years old in May this year and I wanted to extend the warranty for an extra 2 years with a Skoda factory extended warranty. However, I was told I could only do that if I bought the warranty when the car was new? The factory warranty wasn't available when I bought mine in 2010. Are you saying I CAN buy the Skoda factory extended warranty? :think:

If you go the Skoda UK site, and read the bit on warranties, it says this:

"Please note that an extended warranty is only available on new vehicles at the time of ordering."

This is why i am asking for confirmation ...

But my own experience is:

I just bought a 70k superb under 3years old.

The original warranty has expired coz the criteria was not to exceed 70k.

I have asked SUK if i can buy an extended warranty.

Thy said no.

I thn asked my local skoda dealer.

Thy said yes!

Only of i pay for an inspection (to proof no issue with car).

Thn i can pay £300/ year extended warranty...

This is just my own experience ...

I ordered mine last December got it on 17th April and paid for the extra two years then, as I picked it up. All it took at the time was a phone call to the right people.

Don't know is the answer and as I have RAC cover for the wife and my motor bike did not look at it. Will ow out of curiosity.
