Lappy isn't installing vag-com USB software

Featured Replies

Got my VAG COM cable today and plugged it in, but it seems XP hasn't got the software for it to work, and there's nothing on the CD I got with it. Am I being a bit thick? (DON'T answer that! ) Must be somewhere to get the software for the USB KKL interface cable?

J, did you install the SW before plugging the interface in??

Thats the norm with USB stuff.

What message is it giving you?

Well, VAG COM is installed, and when I plugged in the cable, it said found new hardware, tried to search for the software to install it - I even pointed it at c:program files:VAG-COM folder, but no good. It just said it couldn't find the software needed, so I think it either doesn't have it, and neither does this CD from Germany. :o

Think it might be the fact the CD software is in German... I follwed the precise path to the software as laid out in a useful pdf file called "USB" on the CD, but no joy in my lappy finding it. Suspect I need the British version of it? When I open VAG COM it asks me to select the port. but when I hit USB and test it says there's nothing there, as the USB hasn't been recognised by XP yet

I have Steve - But when I select the VAG COM folder, It doesn't find the software like the above guide does. Think perhaps my version might be missing something vital in its programming.

Anyone using USB vag-com and can send me the file needed for USB installation of the KKL interface cable?
