Mrs Pasty's car this time

Looks good but when we think it's definitely been through 1 (and possibly 2) turbos already :(

I think female drivers have no mechanical sympathy and tend to wear out cars faster than most males!

I wouldn't let my partner near a turbo lol!

I don't mean that they take a car to the limit like on a track day as this isn't bad for your car....infact it's good as it helps clean out the carbon build up .

Clutch abuse, pulling away in 3rd, kerbing wheels , short journeys, zero maintance checks are just a few of my partners contribution to looking after her vw beetle lol!

Wowzers! That's a broad statement to make and your a braver man than i am to take on the entire female half of the planet!! :D

Mrs Pasty treats her cars with the utmost respect and is more likely to take a car to its limit at a track day than she is to abuse the clutch, pull away in 3rd or kerb the wheels.

The legacy of being brought up by a JCB & VW mechanical engineer!

The turbos are also nothing to do with her. The 1 that went while it's been in our custody happened while i was driving and the other happened before our ownership.

Lol ! ^^

I once let swmbo use my pride and joy due to hers being off the road for garage work. The feelings that went though me that day would be similar to leaving your kids with Myra Hindley!

It came back with a kerbd pro race 1.2 so i got away lightly lol!

Perhaps you should leave swmbo with Myra Hindley?

Now that is bad. 50k miles and gone through 2 turbos already. Gotta be a record that one!

It's only suspicion Phil well 1 for sure (I deffo did that one ;))

The when we removed the 1 I killed it had a 2006 manufacture date stamped in the side of it.....on a '54 plate car :wonder:

She'd hammer Myra no problem! Lol!

I let SWMBO drive my car for one day and it cost me £800 through nothing other than her inability to follow one simple instruction that I gave her before leaving.

After that I bought manuals as she can't drive them, it saves a lot of agro.

And what was that instruction? Was this in a DSG?

Not DSG, this was before I had the Octavia DSG and she drove a Golf DSG at the time, this was the roadster with paddle shift, the scuttle tray seal was overwhelmed if you parked it pointing up a hill as the water would flow down the screen and due to the angle up the bonnet, after that the SAM unit (the ECU functions were split between the ECU and the SAM) was directly below the flow of water and once it got wet the car is not going anywhere and it was a dealer only job and took weeks.
