abs fault ?

Featured Replies

hi there, i own a 51 plate octavia 1.9tdi with 120000 miles on the clock. i've had issues before but always managed to correct them through info found on this website. this fault its had since i bought it 14 months ago but just got used to it. braking is fine in a straight line but if braking gently in a turn say into a parking space the abs activates. i took it to a local vw specialist to have the vagcom plugged in to find any faults but found non, they then drove it round to induce the abs activation as described but again nothing. all they mentioned was the nsf sensor was reading slightly slower than the other wheels. on inspection, this sensor is a lot closer to the abs ring on this side compared to the drivers side. could this cause a difference in the readings ? its baffled me so i'll just keep putting up with it but it niggles me when there is a fault there but cant rectify it. any one else had this problem ???

the one that is further away will probably lose ability to read ring when turning due to flex in hubs etc. either reseat or replace the sensor closer to abs ring. either way front sensors seem to be at fault and one of them will need replaced
