My Octy has become hard to start first thing, put key in turn ignition on try to start it tries to fire then stops, I then have to crank it over until it fires, it took 5 attempts this morning, cranking until the oil pressure warning gong came on

Its as if it has to pump the fuel from the tank to fire up.

Would a new fuel filter help??

Its had a brand new battery timing belt new glow plugs

Might be starter motor. I had same prob on a 1.9tdi seat leon. I trted all the same things youve done untill starter packed up.

I dont think it is the starter as its turning over as normal, once its been started first thing it stops and starts all day long.

I have booked it in tomorrow the mech is going to change the fuel filter and renew the O ring, and check the whole fuel system out
