PID Hands Free question

Featured Replies

Updated PID to latest version however I have a strange fault.

When you make a phone call using a Samsung Galaxy S3 it connects ok and the call quality is good.

However when the number you call is ringing you do not actually hear the ringing tone, there's just a delay (no sound) and then you either hear the person at the other end answering the call or the call going to voicemail.

Anyone else experience this ?

p.s. PID and phone are both up to date.

AFAIK that's the way it's supposed to be apparently.

Just asked my daughter and she says that when you get an incoming call the music mutes and, if the name of the caller is in your contact list, the PiD will announce it.

If its an unknown number the PiD will say so.

Be prepared for some funny pronunciations of names though :giggle:

Edit: that'll teach me to read properly..

She says that she does hear the ringtone while waiting for the call to be answered.

Have you tried a hard reset?

Hold the on/off button in and press the reset button at the same time.

The incoming calls are fine, it just seems strange that it only does it for outgoing calls ? As I said you don't hear a phone ringing on the phone you are calling - just silence.

Yes I hear the ringtone when making a call. I haven't actually used it for an actual call, as I don't do too many long journeys and just pull in or don't take call while driving...don't get to many calls anyway. However, I tested it with the answer machine on the landline in the house and wasn't too impressed with the quality of the pickup, mainly the sensitivity of the mic in the PID. The incoming audio is fine.Yes try the hard reset, that seems to solve a lot of problems. Failing that consider reverting to the backup, if you made one, and see what happens.
