The LHS of the hatch boot drain runs through into boot (via bumper)!

This is VERY annoying. At first I thought it was one of the many other boot leak issues on this model hatch posted here already, but it's not.

Exactly as the title of the post. See the red lines in the image, that's the welded over lip where it trickles down/in though, collects in the blue circle and then runs in the direction of the arrows. The black area in the top right is where the autochanger WOULD be.

It's an 04 OctyOne and I have a feeling that it's been like this for a while and ignored (autochanger since dried out and working). Boot is dried now but I cannot work out how to stop this from happening again/ruining my parking sensors/steaming up the rear window.

- remove entire bumper and seal from the outside (how much careful work?)

- seal from the inside (not great as that lip goes up higher than even the tiniest of childs fingers will allow)?

- make the left drain drain over the bumper, somehow?

Anyone else ever seen this?

just to check, is the tailight seal in place, and the four nuts tightened holding the tailight in place?

I made it happen by slowly pouring water down the boot drain and watching it roll down and behind the bumper. Fairly sure it doesn't get near the RHS of the light seal but it's a good call and I'll check in the light at the weekend.

check that, then if not i recon you may need to take the rear bumper off, to seal it on the outside, where the panel joins, it could be a gap in the rear panel behind where the bumper sits.
