Help needed - tire pressure warning light

Featured Replies

This came on while i was nothing sporty etc just going down road 40ish mph. Then loght came on with noise its not flashing,

Stopped checked all tyres and pressures all 35.5 psi,

Had new tyres on front a month ago so 50ish miles

Any idea guys what problem could be, feels if driving different but prob just me

Have a look in the handbook, but from memory you need to push the button by the handbrake to recaibrate the system after fitting new tyres.

Anytime you change tyres or the pressures you need to reset. If you had done this then I'd reser it if the pressures are fine and see how it goes.

+1 push the button. It checks the tyres about every 100km unless you have a puncture then it will come on

Just strange how it disnt when tyres fitted now its decided to

Maybe when the new tyres were put on one was at a higher pressure and has dropped now to match the others so looks okay but is a difference to when the system was set. Long shot possibly!

Mine gets upset every now and then. You'll need to reset it: press and hold the button until the second beep. But you will need to be driving constantly for 20 minutes or so immediately afterwards for it to recalibrate properly -no sitting in traffic (or else it will just come on again the next time you are on the motorway), best to do a clear run on the motorway as the higher the RPM of the wheel the more accurate calibration. If it fails you can just do it again

Reset did 5 or so miles and still off so guess at the mintie its just one of those things.

i never reset after tyres were put on was waiting for it to kick on but hadnt, i know its bad but first time its been reset since i got the car 18months ago, naughty i know

I don't think there's an actual pressure sensor in each wheel is there? It just uses the abs sensors to detect if one wheel has more drag that the others, hence puncture.

yep, uses abs sensors, it seems to calibrate over a number of miles,

seem to trigger if you lose about 5psi out of a tyre, if you replace a tyre or use your spare reset the system by pushing and holding the button by the handbrake until you get the bong and indicator on the dash flashes

saved me a couple of times i had a slow puncture with my old roomy

Yea know about the abs sensor etc etc. What i was worried about was it came on for no reason as stated above

If you check your pressures regularly, set them & Re-set the TPMS then it probably will not show unless there is a sudden change in pressure or a fault with the system.

Resetting when changing your pressures or tyres as it says in the Owners Manual.

Checking & setting your pressures with the weather/temp can be a good idea, then Pressing the Re-Set Button..
