Greetings from Aberdeenshire

Featured Replies

Well things have come full circle my 13yr old Felicia Cube van has taken its final trip and so with very little thought I have purchased a Roomster. added the little extras that one "needs" even a full tank of fuel ! and I have downloaded the service and repair manual, although nothing is better that real life experience and advice from a forum.

Now to look forward to many miles of happy motoring, in the case of the Felly it was 237,000 ish of them.

Fred

Just run in then.

I just hope its new owner looks after it just as well , it was like an old friend and sad too filling in the export section on the V5.

Hi from another Aberdeenshireite (had to watch what auto correct came out with with that made up word)

I hope your Roomster gives you as much loyalty as your Felicia did.

Already in the process of making a few alterations,Stainless exhaust was first, best ever investment IMHO, alloys swapped for winters on steel, awaiting reply from Skoda uk to authorize some work and mods to be done without affecting warranty.

Felly , lasted well as serviced "properly" ie oil flush ,frequent fluid changes , gearbox oil changed reg ,drive shafts lubed frequently, electrics marinised , underseal done every summer, only the seat(s) suffered from my lardy arse !

It's nice when somethings brand new all the fixings and fitting undo easily !

3 years later this thread is back from the past !

Well the Roomy has come up to MOT time , fingers crossed and in it went at 240.498 miles , dealer maitained ,all services done washed and polished every weekend and everything.

45mins later and 2cups of tea the tester comes out  and tells me the test fee is £50, now thats a result . In view of the milage done  We decided to replace her and off to Skoda in Aberdeen to get another one, Mrs Freddy decides on the replacement, Its an end of the line Roomster, same colour but with the 16tdi engine, after a quote for Px I decided to keep her as a runabout !.9 pulls the small trailer with ease. so does the Roomy.

Now the Haggle starts , Its a cash sale,no px and its registered 65 plate with 400 miles on it the dealer needs it gone but wont go below £10.000 ( got to keep a straight face here ) but will do the 2 years service thing, paint protecteion stuff, a dog guard in lieu of the skoda assist, fit mud flaps.

I give him the debit card........

It will be deliverd  yes delivered ! on thursday.

Are things that desperate in the new car market or am I out of touch these days.

In the time 240k miles we have requred 1 set brake discs + pads as requred service parts filters 1x BCM ( ouch ) water ingress .

I am now looking for a set of  side body protectors , proper skoda ones any clues as both John Clark and Victoria Garage cant find any.

Another stainless exhaust to be fitted
