fabia vrs mk1 error codes

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I'm trying to find out info on the following error codes that I have found on my car tonight using a mates omniscan reader.

19464 p3008 camshaft position sensor

17055 p0671 cylinder 1 glow plug malfunction in circuit

The Exhaust Control System light on the dash came on two days ago when going to work and has been on ever since. I'm always in fuel saving mode when driving to work and back and haven't done any other driving in between so haven't really noticed any difference in how it behaves.

I have already got the car booked into the dealership I bought it from second hand (still under extended warranty that I got through them) but this won't be until Monday 4th Feb so will still have to use it for work and back until then.

After noting the codes we deleted the codes and then started the car and ran it for maybe only 15 - 20 seconds and no light came on the dash.

Turned it off and connected the omniscan again and it read the 17055 p0671 cylinder 1 glow plug malfunction in circuit error again.

Started the car again for about 15 - 20 seconds and the dash warning light came back on.

Connected omniscan again and still only registers the 17055 p0671 cylinder 1 glow plug malfunction in circuit error.

Do you think the 19464 p3008 camshaft position sensor error might have been a previous error that was fixed and just wasn't cleared from the ECU or does it remove the error code when the fault is fixed?

I'm wondering if it might come back on after a longer drive to work tomorrow (20 mile journey each way, usually only get to 50mph max)

Any info appreciated from the community, and thanks in advance

from my experience, the error remains (and is logged with mileage at the time of the event) until its cleared. it will return again (with new mileage) if it occurs again.

clear them all, and go for a drive and have a look after a decent drive. that's generally a good indication

thanks very much for your info, I didn't notice anything on the omniscan that showed any mileage indicator but that might just be that fault reader. I should be getting an ELM327 bluetooth adapter delivered any day soon so will use that with the torque app and see if anything else comes up before my visit to the dealership.

thanks again

ahh sorry, I assumed VCDS.

you can still clear all codes and take it for a run and see what comes back. worth a try!

tested with ELM327 bluetooth and torque app (very useful app btw!) and only shows the glowplug error as above so it was as you said. Thanks very much for the help

ahh easy fix! glad I could help.
