Just had my Fabia Scout serviced, and while at the dealers, had a look round a Yeti, and was mightily impressed. Picked up a broshure and from reading it, would I be correct in saying that they are permanent 4wd, ie you cannot select between 2 and 4wd? TIA.

Its got Haldex 4--- so in normal conditions it's 2 wheel drive with a tiny bit going to the rear wheels

What Yetiscot said. You don't have to do anything to ensure that the right amount of drive is always going to the right wheels. Just relax and drive.

As above, under 'ideal conditions' most of the power is put down through the front, however the Haldex control unit is constantly monitoring and adapting the drive distribution to match what the vehicle is doing, or being asked to do by the driver; no human input involved.

You can also get the off-road function (standard or as an option), which is selected by the driver; this changes certain parameters in regard to drive, rev's and braking for loose surface conditions. Not answer or cure all for snow mind, winter tyres are required but it can help.

Winter tyres, snow and a bit of common sense is the combination that is costing me money. I want to get out there and drive all the time, it is so much pleasure with the Yeti, who needs a reason or a destination?
