TPMS and ABS Sensor

Featured Replies

Quick question, and not an easy solution, from what it seems so far.

I bought the TPMS switch and hiring from a well known and trusted site that sells Skoda OEM parts, went to a VW-Audi garage to install the kit, wiring looks to be connected correctly from VAG-Group wiring diagrams for the specific car.

Outcome garage said that it does not work cause the has ABS modules that did not support TPMS.

It's a 2010 FL Octavia Scout, is it possible that the coding is wrong? Would Skoda change ABS sensor on an option that was only 40 euro extra to get it preordered on the car? If its only coding can someone please send me the coding, cause through VAG-COM it looks like you can register the TPMS in 4-5 different places.

Just installed it successfully on mine. It's 2008 and I have the abs unit 1k0 614 517ac. All I needed was the switch, wiring and patience. Mine gets its power and illumination from the esp button, and runs a single wire to the abs unit. Coding was subtract 16384 from the short code on the abs unit, in my case it changed from 55938 to 39554. If I can be of more help, fire any other questions you have and ill try answering.

Myself and the last poster appear to have different modules, judging by part numbers. Hence what appears to be different codings, so probably worth looking at yr part number, although if you google 'tpms 16384', my method seems to also come up for the part number on the link in the previous post.

Thank you both for your replies.

I dont have VAG-COM so i go the garage and use the dude's laptop. I enabled what you can see on the pic, which should have done the trick. How do I find out what abs unit I have? I remember the mechanic enabled TPMS in to other places. I'll probably drive to the garage next monday, which is by my work, but i commute daily. Though i will keep you posted. Meanwhile if anyone thinks some thing please let me know. link to pic https://www.dropbox.com/s/40jzzmck20ktg9m/photo.JPG

That is some kind of control module being coded on that screenshot, don't think its the abs controller. If yr anywhere near south east wales happily look at the abs module coding for you.

Abs unit is different in 4x4 octavia to non 4x4 model, I have been trying to get a handling on the coding for the tpms for some time now but not managed to make it work.

If you have only ASR and not ESP, probably means that you have the mk7 abs module.

If so, the tpms doesn't require any other coding except, in the instrument cluster > long coding> byte 2.

No other coding is required at all, you can check if the TPMS has been activated by checking the ABS brake module.

However having said all that, yours is a scout so could be a different set up.
