Dropbox problems

Featured Replies

Can I sync my note 2 in anyway so the pics I take go to my account but all my pics already on dropbox dont come to my phone? I want to be able to store all my new pics but dont want all 300+ old pics on my new phone.

I prob better then just saving the pics to photobucket then. What ua think? Its basicslly the same thing

Dropbox automates it, and I (personally) can't stand photobucket. But whatever works for you is fine. It's all online storage in the end.

I don't want to store my images on Dropbox so the fact it pops up on my computer asking if I want to every time I put a camera memory card into it annoys the hell out of me. But if that's what you're after then I guess it's useful. I know the Dropbox iPhone app will automatically chuck your camera roll onto your Dropbox. So if the Android version is the same, it should just be a case of installing that and turning auto-upload on? Seems a lot quicker than photobucket?

i just dont want it to fill up with junk every time i just take a quick picture if every time i take a picture it gos straight

to drop box

I'd just use it as normal then. Go into the app and select all the pics you want to transfer and throw them in as a batch manually. Same effort as Photobucket but a much nicer experience (in my opinion). Plus they will then sync across your devices if you have dropbox on your home computer etc.

I never thought I'd get it, but I'm a massive Dropbox fan since using it. I've got 7 devices hooked up to my account and it's just a fantastic way to have (almost) instant access to all your files. If only my iPhone would preview .ai and .psd files I'd be made!

I thought dropbox gave you an additional 500mb of storage just for uploading a photo automatically, they then proceed to keep giving you 500mb if you fill it.

So fill your extra 500mb, they give you another 500mb, fill that and they will give you another 500mb etc etc etc

You get an extra 500MB up to 3GB, then you're on your own. And it only counts as part of your 500MB if you're using the auto uploader, not manually uploading to the folder.

But yeah, leech an extra 3GB from them if you need it :D

Just remember that this will come out of your mobile data allowance.

It's easy to burn it up, which is why I disable photo uploads in apps

Stuff doesn't sync from Dropbox to your phone unless you specifically mark a file/folder as a "favourite" (which means it's always downloaded and kept on the phone for use if you have no Internet access). Even if you turn on the camera sync function, it only sends pictures from your phone camera to Dropbox's "Camera Uploads" folder. Stuff doesn't go the other way (at least mine never has).

I bought a Samsung pad at Christmas and got an extra 50gb storage on Dropbox!! problem is I think it only lasts a year :(

It's either one or two years, depending on the product. I had a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and a Note 10.1 in for testing recently and signed into Dropbox to grab some test files from my account. One gave me 12 months and one gave me 24 but I'm not too sure which was which.

I'm guessing it's the 12 month variant as I only got a 7.0 :(
