3rd and 4th year service package, worth it?

Featured Replies

Car has just gone in for it's second service at 2 years old, my 2 year service package is finished now and I've now been offered a package to cover the 3rd and 4th year services at £378.00 is it worth taking them up on this?

That's just the cost of the fixed price minor and major service added together. Although it guarantees the price, my local garage always knock a bit off that (about 10%) as I use them all the time. IMHO, its not worth it.

What you could do is say you will take it if they throw in the MOT's that will be required free of charge. Then its a good deal.

Thanks Metblackrat, I forgot to mention I also get, free MOT tests, free tyre puncture repair, free collection and return for servicing or free courtesy vehicle plus 10% off all accessories.

When they ring me to let me know it's on it's way back I will check whether the package includes the DSG service which I believe is at 4 years (I did RTM but have forgotten and as it's in the car which isn't here at the moment I can't check) and I believe is quite costly, if anyone can shed any light on that it'd be much appreciated.

Once my 2 year plan was up, I took out the 3rd and 4th year plan for £299. This includes 2 x services and 2 x MOT's including MOT Failure Insurance.

Ask the dealership if it is still running. I have a dealership near me who lost my servicing custom (I use them for spares etc) because the salesman (the Servicing Manager who is really good was off sick) insisted on pushing the Dealerships own maintenance package (£369 compared to £299) over the Skoda one, and it didn't offer the MOT insurance.

I got the info from the Skoda UK website in July 2012. Can't check if it is still running as using the works reduced access computer!!!!
