Fabia vrs 'hunting'

Slight problem. It's fine on idle, but I just came back from sainsburys sitting at 30 and it felt like I was pressing the throttle on and off very quickly. I know my boost pipe going onto the egr valve keeps popping off at the bottom but it's been doing that for months with no loss of power. Any ideas?
