To Bling or Not to Bling

Featured Replies

With my Yeti being delivered on the 18th December everyone in the family bought me some form of add on accessory. Now we have a clean car at last I thought I would show some of the results. Good and not so good comments welcome

From what I can see it looks great but the images are tiny.

Let me see how many I can spot (from Superskoda), even if your posted photos won't enlarge.

1) Fog light chrome surrounds.

2) Lower bumper outer aperture alloy look trim pieces.

3) Lower grill alloy plastic trim pieces (2 of).

4) Matt alloy seat recliner handle inserts.

5) Wood trim (obvious).

Marks out of 10 please.

I wish skoda would put chrome around the fans, looks a bit bland without.

Also is there a chrome strip down side moulding I can see on there?

Totally agree - I do like a bit of chrome. I have installed chrome surrounds around the cup holders & heater controls, also (plastic) alloy surrounds around the door handles and the seat recline levers - all from Superskoda. I really want the fan outlets as well though.

I really want those chrome door handle surrounds from superskoda. Again it just needs something there to contrast.

They are not chrome but a painted alloy colour plastic , the same finish as the silver dash piece in most Yetis. In my Urban model, this trim piece is a carbon effect metal, so they are a bit "out of place". I also got the alloy (painted plastic) gear lever surround but did not like it (want to buy it?).

Oh that's really disappointing, thanks for letting me know though, I would have ordered them.

If it had been chrome I would have bought from you.

Thank you for the offer though.

Nearly 10 out of 10 The lower grill trims are stainless steel otherwise all correct. Door handle covers are stainless as well. I also have stainless cup holder suround (not shown) and extra chrome around the climatronic controls. The reason for the small pics is I have had to import them fom Picaso. In the past I have used the URLs from Flickr but for some reason when I inport as an image I only get a red cross and no photo. Does anyone know why this happens and is there any way of enlarging the Picaso photo's as they are full size on their site

Oh and I forgot to mention the stainless steel inserts on the main grill which glue into the vertical fins. As there are around 20 of these inserts, make sure you fit them one at a time from the card holders as they will be a pain to fit if they are all removed from the packaging and mixed up. Well worth it as they look good with the sun shining on the grill

Looks good.

I do like the wood trim inside with the lighter colour interior.

Dare to be different, don't follow the herd. :)

I have all those accessories. even the main front grill inserts which i think if i could see better you have.

You must of fitted them indoors in the warm because i am still waiting for that nice warm day outside,as i have no garage.

I have that silver gear lever surround, but i found it does match the silver bezel i fitted around the columbus unit. as i have the elegance silver/black dash

Finally managed to work out a larger picture. One of the items you missed from the list was the black B pillar add ons. I think on darker coloured cars they look good and match the other black pillar parts exactly

Wow that does look good, what wax have you used? That's one hell of a shine!

Loving the chrome.

I got a discounted Lifeshine pre delivery and have added a Colanite Wax on top, I must admit after my doubts of the cost I am almost convinced it was worth it. Especially as our dog decided to throw up on the rear carpet on his first journey and the carpet protector did a great job of keeping it all on the surface and easily cleaned off

Sorry to bring up an old thread but have noticed that Superskoda have now stopped selling the Chrome Foglight Rings.Just when I was contemplating the purchase of said product. They certainly don,t mess about when the advent of the F/L is imminent.

Tony

Tony,

have you noticed that the foglight rings are back on the Superskoda website? They don't seem to be selling anything aimed specifically at the FL yet.

VERY smart jonceebee, and you have a sunroof to boot.  ;))

Yetikent,I did notice it had been put back on the Superskoda site, thanks for heads up. Have ordered a pair I know its a Bling thing but I do like the look of them on Jons Yeti.

Tony

Just make sure they're flat before you try to fit them or the self adhesive strips will not be enough to hold them down.

Hi Neil

Did you order yours by the air mail option ? and if so how long did they take to arrive ?

Bob

Bob,

Yes I did use the air mail option but it still took about a two weeks to arrive and they were slightly bent too.

Thanks Neil

The DHL option of postage at 14.99 Euros did seem a bit of a no brainer.

I've noticed that their reputation does seem to be going downhill, quite a few people have mentioned damage and lack of communication.

Too late now ordered, thanks for info.

Here's "Mr Blue " at home in his lair sporting his stainless steel fog light rings.
