Number plates - Stick or screw?

Featured Replies

I'm getting some pressed plates from ebay and I'm not sure whether to stick them on or screw them on.

Stuck on looks better

Screwed on is more secure

How strong is Number plate tape?

Not using a surround? My rear plate holder is screwed to the car and the plate (also pressed metal one) sits in it cleanly with no holes needed.

Never even considered it, Do the surrounds fit on the front of the Fabia?

Running same idea as devonutopia, bought surrounds from awesome and they were very multifitment type backs. Front surround on mine doesn't sit flush as the bit on the bumper is curved...

Stick on for mine used four strips along full length of plate don't think it's coming off any time soon:)

As long as you use the right tape and apply it as per the instructions it's not going anywhere.

If you need to take them off every year for your MOT then screw. ;-)

R11K UP apparently is unacceptable so every year I have to replace for 1 day only to R11 KUP

Grrrr...

my pressed plates were passed the mot ?

Pressed plates are perfectly legal, if you buy from a decent seller.

Surely plate surrounds are equally as good for switching them once a year though? Insert key, open frame, swap plate, close frame, ta-da!
