Windscreen Wipers

Help...

On the way home today my windscreen washers suddenly stopped working int he driving snow. Managed to limp the car to a garage.

All fuses seem to check out ok. The garage has said that it is a 12amp fuse but only 5 volts is coming through to the windscreen motor so it is not the motor or the fuse it is something inbetween. One theory is it is the Electronic Control Unit, this sounds expensive, is it expensive and is this really the likely problem or has the garage just missed something really simple?

Any help would be appreciated

Probably missing something simple, was the wipers trying to clear heavy snow? This may have damaged the motor

No was almost like heavy rain driving along the motorway no snow on the windscreen... The garage have said there is definitely 12volts going into the ECU but they need to look at the wiring and the motor could have shorted the ECU is this really the case?
