Heated exterior mirrors

Featured Replies

Are the heated exterior mirrors covered under warranty ?

I acquired the Yeti last September and since the start of the cold weather I've been wondering about the functioning of the driver's side mirror, and it now appears that the heating elements aren't working. Nearside mirror clears nicely though.

As long as your Yeti is within the Warranty period (3 years) then the heated mirrors will be covered like any other part of the vehicle - why wouldn't they be - or am I missing something here?

Just checking as my experience of warranties is that they can be variously interpreted as to what counts as 'wear and tear' or 'normal deterioration'. Reading some of the past postings on this issue it seems that the elements in the mirrors are very susceptible to 'burning out' as the heating switch does not automatically go off after a set time period. That's the sort of common damage manufactures may potentially guard against by an exclusion clause. Anyway, hope you're correct. Rest assured, stay calm, I'm sure you're not missing something - thank you for the reply.Fortunately there's another two years on the warranty.

Yes,they will be covered,in the past on other cars I have had the heating elements replaced under the warranty.

Yes, it will be covered under warranty.
