OctyVRS Jabba Remap today :-)

Featured Replies

Today i had a fantastic day out at JabbaSport, what a great and magical place that is! (if u cant tell im still buzzing with excitement!)

Got a remap sorted on my Octavia VRS...and its all down to the great recommendations on here...so i would like to just continue (brag!) the recommendations for JabbaSport, so everyone else goes to these people to have theirs done.

I had a trial (6 hour test) of another brand of remap (dont want to say their name so as not to slag them off) but it was not that good, i mean i could feel the difference for sure but didnt match the reports i was reading for Jabba'd cars.

So got to Jabba for the afternoon slot, they made me and my mates very homely...TV, Xbox, Coffee, leather chairs! Well needed after the 4 hour journey :thumbup:

So anyway the results......

Went in with Neuspeed turbo intake pipe, turbo back stainless exhaust with hi-flow cat, K&N panel filter, Baileys DV.

The before remap reading was 195.7 Cv and 250.4 Nm.

Then came out remapped at 250.7 Cv and 329.3 Nm

thats like 247.3BHP (if my calculations are correct) :D:thumbup:

So i am one happy bunny!! Get yours done at Jabba, i am converted.

Does any one have any feedback for Jabba's Boost controller, i mean when its turned down does the fuel ecomony go back up? as on the way back my MPG was **** and wasnt really caining it as didnt want to get my photo took!

Yep mine went from 40+ miles to the gallon, now i'm lucky if i hit 34 miles to the gallon ah well you win some you lose some;) .Anyway hope you enjoy the remap mine still puts a smile on me face  .

does the turbo intake pipe really make that much difffrence i have more or less all the same mods but only got 226 ? starting from 191

and are you running optimax?

Joel

i only got 226bhp on ine, i don't have the turbo back system but i was only running 95ron fuel from a regular unleaded pump(never get it now) but i also have a CAI and the boost controller and fmic but i did get 352nm :D

strange one that

Did you get urs done at jabba?

What fuel are u running?

I dont think the turbo intake pipe made that much difference before it was mapped so i dont know if it effects how they map it. i did feel a very slight improvement after i put the pipe on but that may have been me hoping for a difference after i spent something like 170 quid on it! it was much improvement anyways.

no im not running optimax, im running on super, esso 97.

Does any one know if i could run it on any 97 or should i stick to esso 97 now its been mapped to that?

Hi, I'm a newbie Octavia vRS owner (picking it up tomorrow morning bright & early ;) ).

Does everyone recomend not using standard unleaded then? I think I remember reading somehere about Skoda recomending 98ron (is that right? ) not sure, please clear up for me before I need to refill tomorrow afternoon!!

ps. I have been reading through all sections of this site for about 2 days like a real freak! Keep up the good work guys, it's really educated me.

It can run on 95ron but won't give max power...98RON will......apparently.

im no expert on this subject but I have used a mix of standard 95 ron and 97 ron in my vrs for the last 60k, mainly 95 ron and its been fine so far, the only thing i find is 97 gives u a little more kick. the standard setup for the car is designed to run on either 95 or 97, so i would say it shouldnt matter that much.

the only thing i have heard resently is that 'supermarket fuel' might contain less 'good' suff for performance engines?? so if you like to drive it hard u might wanna use some good fuel.

now i've had my remap setup for 97 i'll have to keep to that.

if i run 95ron fuel and have the boost controller on max then i get pinking and the ecu detects this so backs off on boost and ignition timing which pretty much cuts all power for a couple minutes. i can run 95 ron fuel but keep the controller below 3/5 and its all good but not as quick

my octy has been remapped to 222bhp and 250lb torque, if i run it on supermarket fuel it really gets grumpy and is noticeably down on power.

i only use branded fuel now shell or bp mainly. its alot happier now!

98 ron definitly sharpens the throttle response.

Joel, Do you mean 226 at the wheels or max engine power?

that'll be max

  • Author
that'll be max

hmmm... how is it so different? (not that im complaining!)

the max is the guessed engine output which the work out as best they can by measuring wheel power and back calculating the engine power by trying their best to measure transmission losses.

mine for example on jabba rollers got 184.5bhp at the wheels and 226bhp at the fly on 95ron fuel. but that 184.5bhp was whilst in 4x4 mode not FWD, yours will have lower transmission losses due to being FWD

:rubchin: Hmmm 250 brake you say.

Thought I'd say it before anyone else does :D

it does seem odd that your car gave more power than roque, thought these engines on the standard turbo gave more torque than power

It does have more torque than power, or am i being stupid!

i also failed to notice urs is a 4x4 so that would explain it.

i'm talking about foot pounds and not NM, mine came out with 226bhp and 256lbft yet yours got 250bhp and 240lbft

ooooh! i see what u mean...is that good or bad? i didnt even notice.

dunno really, just i thought they all got more torque than power, personally i love more torque. its the torque that accellerates you down the road too
