Blackline satnav probs,or me

Featured Replies

Went on a trip from Bristol to Plymouth today and set the sat nav up for the first time since picking the car up,so went to put post code in pl36 but after 3 the only no we're 1-5,so put actual address in ok,but directions were starting from Telford and stayed in Telford the whole journey and wherever you are it keeps telling me I'm in Telford,I'm not in demo mode .?is it the sat nav or is it me.?can anybody help

Sounds like the sat nav isn't picking up your gps signal. Job for the dealer I think.

Just tried for you and I get the same when I put pl3 in - no option to choose 6 only 1-5 plus 0 so either we've got old maps or the sat nav is missing a bit as google maps has several choices for pl36

Littleade.............thanks for that,it looks like a visit to the dealers, new antenna and map updates req..............

No worries- I'll never go to PL36 but makes you wonder what other post codes are missing.....might start a thread to see. One thing I have found is that putting the actual address in isn't always the best answer either as I took my daughter to her new digs in Manchester for her 2nd year at uni and there were 2 streets with the same name and yes we went to the wrong one, well nearly as we spotted we were going to the wrong area so reverted to the post code and that got us there. Not bad for a free satnav though....

Its a bit awkward, you have to enter the postcode exactly as it is written including the space; i missed the space button the first time I used it and experienced a similar issue.

Its unlikey the postcode doesnt exist unless it happens to be really new; the V4 maps my Jan 13 Blackline has are pretty up to date

....unless of course your car has a GPS fault not unheard of.

I have found with mine it can take a little time for it to get an accurate GPS fix, particularly if you start the car without line of sight GPS (parked in a multistory or undercroft for instance) but once it has a lock it should be pretty bang on.

The post code problem was mine............PL3. Space 6 AA.........space between the two numbers, but the antenna still a prob so back to the dealers tomorrow, just wondered if the other blackline owners had theirs sorted

Nope , no issues with mine and had it since November

Booked the car in last Monday to have the job done today, explained the prob with sat nav antenna, garage called back yesterday and was told that they had replaced a few already so would order 1 in,arrived 0800 and low and behold was told there is a problem with the antenna and they will order one in.?but they had washed the car,yes you've guessed it ,parking now playing up,,,,,,,this could be my first and last skoda.......last 3 and a half years with a Kia,and not one issue........

Dont let it put you off cos sensors play up on nearly all cars as its to do with current technoladgy in them. The sensors see a drop of water as a object, its jyst vag sensors are more prone to problems than others.

Took the car back again on Saturday, had a new antenna fitted in about 20mins,now working ok but declined the kind offer of car wash as wanted the parking censors to work."
