VRS getting new engine on Monday

Featured Replies

Well having the usual oil problem it went to Thomson and potter to get the oil breather pipe fitted ten days.went back today to get the oil checked again and it had used 2 litres.so engine ordered and going in next Monday to get it fitted

If it is any consolation, mine has now done 3500 miles since being replaced and has maybe used 400 mls of oil :)

On the other hand though, I am now not regularly topping up with fresh oil so that which is in the sump is being worked that little bit harder. Now I know that I really have nothing to worry about, but I can't help but think I should do a more frequent oil change :(

Hope it is all sorted for you once the VRS has a new heart. I still love the affect of pressing the loud pedal whenever the opportunity presents itself :bandit:

Well I guess the good news its under warrenty and you wont have to worry about a piston melting.

We have a new engine and its used zero oil since

BUT

When the warranty expires in October its going

"Once bitten, twice shy"

just got my engine replaced too, under warranty 2 weeks ago, only 11000kms on it.. have only had the car since november :(

so know the frustration. ..

.

hope this one lasts :)

  • 4 weeks later...

Any updates on this?
