Hi I bought a set of old leon wheels for a grand to total of £42,

because the tread on them was better than the tread of the tyres on the steelies that came on the car.

But! one of the wheels has a serious acne problem and there are a few other bits that need sorting too.

Look closer!

I've managed to blag off of the stores chap at work some of this!

some 240 grit and some brutal 80 grit. Mick from stores said to get a better finish to use washing up liquid and water on the final rub down with the 240.

I'd like to know how to get started on the project and what other things I'll need like type of primer and what colour should I do the wheels?

have done 3 sets using this method now

only issue is to get a good job you do really need the wheels off the car

My driving test is booked for march the 8th so the car is drive bound until then, and I can put the 14" OEM steelies back so it doesn't have to go up on bricks.
