wierd rattle noise

Featured Replies

hi there, just making a post to see if any of you have had the same problem as i currently have with my vRS,

i recently bought the car 2 weeks ago and since then the garage where i bought it have had to refit the slash guards underneath the engine (refitted on saturday)

since then i have been hearing a wierd rattling noise from just behind the driver side wheel, obviously i havn't a clue as to what sort of parts are behind there but i'm assuming its something the garage has moved slightly when they have refitted the plastics

any help would be appreciated!

thanks

on that side you have he pancake pipe and the cambelt. when does the noise appear?

I noticed the other day that my Cat heatshield was loose on the two rear fixings (i.e. rusted!). I done a temp fix for now, but you get a rattle when the engine is cold, probably due to additional vibration when the engine is warming up. Once warm or driving it is fine.

the noise is pretty much constant all the time, i had a look last night and i've found what i think is vibrating, i have no idea what it is though to be honest, its like an oval shape plastic pipe, as soon as grab hold of it the noise stops, any ideas on a fix?

problem fixed, the gromit on the bracket on the intercooler/turbo pipe had come off and the pipe was just rattling against the side of the engine, thanks for the help anyways!
