EGR question

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, this is gonna be the first of many help threads :D

My car feels a bit lacking in the power department. I've noticed the hose to the pipe to the EGR valve isn't secured on (see video), once I get the car to 40mph the EML comes on and it sounds a bit throaty. I've had a look through some threads and tried to see how the pipe is secured and I'm wondering what I'd need to buy to fix it.

Also, with it being my new (new to me) car I'm gonna service it on friday, is it wise to stick "not so good quallity" oil into it and let it heat up then drain it a few times before sticking the proper oil in?

I thought it was 90/110/130 BHP? :S

Cheers!

yours is a pd engine from what i can tell by the top of the engine and fuel rails, if it's a 6 speed it'll be a 130 bhp if not i think it's the smaller pd engine 105, bhp, not to familiar with pd's yet, but i will be :D

but on an other note about your egr i would buy a egr delete kit and just be done with it as it's one less thing to go wrong, but if i remember right you'll get and eml light unless someone maps it out, other than that try replacing the section of pipe, or the egr, don't know what type the connection is so i can't give you 100% advice

Would I need someone with VCDS to map out the EGR or an actual remap?
