Polish `v` Glaze

Featured Replies

I'm trying to understand the difference between the two. I polish my car at the moment, with SRP, but I know that it contains a cutting element.

I'm rather concerned about that so I've been reading up on it all. Trouble is, when you get into these things it all gets very complicated...talking about the thickness and hardness of paint etc!

May I cut to the chase and ask you experts a few questions...

1. Is my paint `Hard`, `Medium` or `Soft`

2. My car is only 7 months old and I've looked after it the best I can. As far as I can see it has no imperfections. That being the case, would a `Glaze` be better than the SRP I'm using at the moment?

3. If so, can you recommend a suitable and safe glaze. (My LSP will be Collinite 845).

Many thanks.

Mike.

1. medium

2. SRP hasnt that much of a cut so i wouldnt be to bothered about it,

3.if you want to change then something like Chemical Guys EZ creme glaze.

Hi, `Grizzle` (Love to know where that name came from!!!)

Thank you for the info.

I can only find `Chemical Guys EZ Glaze with Acrylic Shine ll` is that what you mean?

Secondly, as you know, you have to be careful not to touch plastic and rubber trim when using AG products...is it the same with this stuff?

Many thanks.

Mike.

Glazing is not a must have. It just adds somr bling and covers light swirls if you have them. I dont bother these days..just polish and wax

Thank you, Chris.

So, can you suggest a polish that does not have a cutting element to it... as a change to my SRP, that I know you don't particularly like. I am concerned about scratching my paint with the very stuff I'm using to keep it looking good.

Regards.

As Always...Thank you for your advice, Chris.

I must say that this does look like the stuff for me...with a coat of 845 on top...cant wait to get it done!

I've just read about this stuff, Chris and it looks like the text on the container is gonna be mainly German. So, can I ask, is it just a case of `on` with a microfibre and `off` with a clean microfibre?

Regards.

Mike.

Yes..Hand application with a MF applicator pad is fine....but better if applied via DA with a finishing pad

Buff off when hazed...leave an hour or more, then add a coat of wax

The thought of using a DA scares me. I fear I'd do more damage than good by putting on too much pressure or digging in to the paintwork etc, so I think I'll stick with the hand application.

Thanks, Chris.

Regards.

Mike.
