Hello.

I've googled & looked around this forum but can't find what I'm looking for.

Basically, my 1.9 TDI is losing coolant (I have to top it up daily) because i couldn't discover where it was going to.

Yesterday I saw drips from behind the drivers side headlamp.

If I look through the vent in the lower part of the bumper, under the headlamp, there is an air intake with what looks like a small oil cooler at the back. When looking under the car, in front of the OS wheel, there is a black housing which i guess is the back of this cooler.

This is where the coolant is coming from. What is this part of the car, any ideas what it's likely to be & how to I get to it?

(headlamp out? Bumper off?)

I just need to know what's involved so i can set about fixing it.

Still not had a chance to take anything apart but I'm thinking this is the intercooler I'm talking about but not sure how the coolant system interacts with it (if at all - I'm thinking not)

However coolant is definitely coming out somewhere around this so think I'll just take it all to bits (with reference to this >> http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/115290-cleaning-intercooler-mk1-octavia-vrs/ ) and see what's what.
