Will these wheels/rims fit?

Featured Replies

Hi experts!

I think i might have a problem here...

I just bought a pair of rims 8x18 225x40 ET35.

But i now read that Octavia II has a higher ET?? My car is lowered with Eibach 30/30 mm

Does anybody know if they will fit? Or may have tried that combination?

Pics or experience with those measurements would be great.

Thanks!

oe spec (vrs 18" wheel) is 7.5 wide with ET51, so your 8" inch wide wheel ET35 will have 10mm MORE clearance on the inside (ie further away from the strut) but will be pushed 22mm further out in the arch - that's quite a lot. ET45 would be a better fit IMO.

Agreed. My Turinis are 8x18 ET42 and I wouldn't go any lower than that offset.

Stance and look is spot-on for me and it was the right call to push the wheels out a little from OEM, but going down to ET35 is too far.

Hmm, it's just weird that so many dealers and manufactures actually has those measurements for that car. :S

Eg.

A Skoda Forum in Germany has also made a list with different tyretypes etc:

I didn't say they wouldn't fit, just that Et45 IMO would be a better spec. I took a look at that german site and yes there are several guys running et35 wheels but maybe they like the wheels to poke out? personally I dont.. Also where people have lowered the car a lot then the lower offset seems to work better (check out nick p's car on air) but at stock or mild drops they won't look as good. 02p etc.

Oh OK, didn't know the question was actually if they'll physically fit and rotate just while the car is pointing straight ahead ;)

If you've already bought them, go ahead and fit them and judge for yourself.

Hi rob_e thanks! It's good to hear your opinion too, that's why i asked :) Btw. can you give me the link to nick p's car which you mention?

Wardy there are a lot of opinions on this "issue", and I think I can live with a little bit of poking, but not with the rubbering :)

If you wanted it to work, I think you'd need to be lower than the Eibach -30mm spring.

Thanks! :) Besides from the car isn't lowered i actually don't see what you mean? :) (Yeah sorry but i'm an IT-geek not an actual Car-geek ;)

ok :D apologies to whoever that car belongs to, but it looks shocking to my eyes - the wheels look like they are pushed way too far out of the arches - reminds me of when my little girl borrows her mum's shoes.

:)
