Knackered KKK Turbo

Featured Replies

Is there any value at all in a KKK PD130 turbo with an exploded impellor?

I kept it following its removal in December more out of not really knowing what to do with it than anything else.

However now i have all the redundant Golf seat metal to also get rid of is it worth also weighing it in or could it be of some use to someone? Could it be refurbed? Could it be hybrid-ed (that a word:S)?

its not really any use for repairs because to fit a new impellar it would need balanceing which is very expensive if it was just the seals that had gone it would have been salvageable.

TurboDynamics say non-no

Midland turbos say no-no

CR Turbos say yes we can refurb it back to like new for almost £500

Still cheaper than a brand new one....

hmmm

Hot glue gun it back together

May be stronger than original lol

Worth it for the tiny profit margin in it? You can get a new one for £550 iirc

Keep it - chop off the KKK turbo where it goes into the manifold, and weld on a 2260vk - job done :D

I would say the manifold end is worth more for that reason than the whole thing put together. I'm sure Darkside might offer you some pennies for it for one of their projects
