Getting carried away VRs

Featured Replies

As per title really! I thought I would have a oil change on my vrs.......while there I had new spark plugs, air, fuel filter etc. Garage was great, nice chaps and they cam recommended so I thought we'll my pads and discs are looking fairly worn so I booked in for week after.

Next visit new discs and pads front and back and new rear calipers as they were ahem..dodgy! Again a great job and good price. It stops well now I thought.....so booked in for week after,

This time lets make it go better! So stage 1 Revo remap and piper cross filter, goes well now and stops great too! So I book in for week after!

Last visit super pro bushes fitted, I'm no great driver so this upgrade has made a difference to me lol!

All in all the car feels great now also with the new continentals I put all round before Xmas,it's a 55 plate on 58k so I'm hoping to have lots of time with it to come as I got carried away and spent a bit! Skint now!!!

All work was done by statler sheffield, they are a vag/Porsche specialist, great place and people.

Thanks for reading people, I'm off out for a drive!

Now just arb/farb upgrades and yer golden.

Until you get hungry for big power...

Is the piper cross filter an open induction kit in the engine bay if it is you will get massive heat soak and with the remap it will cause damage and loose power, hot air is not good for the 1.8t a pannel filter in the std air box is much better, or get an ebay cold air induction kit about £40 which puts the filter down behind the front bumper and put your filter on the end as the one that comes with it is rubbish i hope this makes sence.

You live in Sheffield mate? As I saw a 55 plate Octy this morning just on the way towards Worral.

I've thrown far too much money at mine too. I feel your pain.

Thanks for the advice, yes couple of bits to make it golden! Hoping to resist big power lol!

The piper cross is a filter inside standard air box so ok for now from what you say cheers

Yes sheffield but up around gleadless/handsworth area usually and mines black mate

Cheers for the replies chaps!

I've heard a lot about Statler from Hurdy. He's got a Mk6 Golf R and posts on lowdownvw. Is it all good stuff they do then?

Have you got ARB's on your car yet mate? If not make it next on your list!

Not yet mate but after reading a bit more its on the list! Yeah they have some great cars, think he's back doing some type of racing with a Porsche 997 turbo I think it is, he runs a 400bhp+ golf daily by the looks of it, what a life tinkering with some real cracking cars.

Check out his website, particularly the Facebook section and scroll down, great vag stuff but some fantistic pork old and new!

I found the place because my work friend runs a 993 c4s and statler look after it very well.
