Fabia vrs mk1 thinks it 3 door

Featured Replies

Having a problem with my rear doors not locking/unlocking, of what I can see on vcds it doesn't think it has rear doors. Can anyone advice of a way forward in amending or adjusting settings Please.

Thanks in advance Andrew

There is somewhere in the coding that tells the car if it is 5 or 3 door..... I used my car for YEARS not realising the back doors weren't locking.... I changed the coding on VCDS - I don't remember exactly where the coding was though. 46 central convenience I think.

I have not been able to find anything do you think you would remember if you logged in and had a look?

My wife's Fabia vRS was coded as a 3 door when we bought it. Everything seemed to work OK but I remember changing the coding to 5 door when I disabled auto locking and set beep on lock. I will see if I can find what the coding changes were tomorrow.

Using VCDS I have had a look at 46 - Central Convenience then Coding - 07 for my wife's Fabia vRS. The original coding was 00018 which I have since recoded 00067.

The latter Comfort System (J393) coding is the sum of the following individual options:

+00001 = Selective Locking inactive

+00002 = 4-doors

+00064 = Central Locking with 2 Power Windows installed (Thro MY 2007)

Other options are:

+00016 = Central Locking without Power Windows installed (Thro MY 2007)

+00256 = Central Locking with 4 Power Windows installed (Thro MY 2007)

Other options I have coded via Adaptation - 10 are:

03 - Auto Lock - OFF

04 - Auto Unlock - OFF

06 - Unlocked - BEEP - OFF

07 - Locked - BEEP - ON

08 - Unlocked - BLINK - ON

09 - Locked - BLINK - ON

10 - Adjustment - Alarm Horn - UK

Good news. :) What did you recode?

67 as you advised in your earlier post.

Andrew Ritchie

Yes, the good old +2 / -2. I still don't know why/how mine was recoded minus 2 as I've not really fiddled in that area before and I am sure mine was locking all 5 doors when I first got it. :)
