MFS wheel/full screen MFD retro fit

Featured Replies

Went to the breakers and saw they had a octavia with multi fucntional buttons and a full length display on the clocks just a quick question if I was to fit them to my ambient what would I need from the donor car like would I need any modules or just the actual speedo and wheel??

And how would I get the correct mileage on the new speedo??

Assuming both cars are either FL or non FL, use the same fuel and are roughly the same age then you will need the steering wheel controller, MFSW, instruments (ideally with the SKC read before they are removed).

Then you need your SKC from your instruments.

VAG-Tacho / Commander will read the SKC, do the mileage correction and code the immobiliser.

Wow that's alot of bits and reading that neads doing..

The donor car is of the same year and engine is the same but the car parts have already been pretty much removed as of today so there's no chance of reading them in the car

don't worry about the skc, try and get the key

failling that, still shouldn't be a problem.

Wher is the steering wheel controller located??

How old is the car?

Our both cars are 2008(57)

Pretty sure a 2008 car will have the controller under the steering column shroud.

controller

Steering wheel

Speedo cluster

Is there any actual benefit in having a full mfd

Is there any actual benefit in having a full mfd

Yes it will look about 100 times better, and you will get some options in the Convenience/Lights and Vision menus (if applicable to your car)

THEN you can look to upgrade your CECM and CCM units so you get the full menus and options available.
