Top mount bushes?

Featured Replies

Hi all, when turning my steering wheel to the left and then to the right, and when I put my hand on top of the struts in the engine bay, I can feel movement, does this mean the bushes are worn? Help is greatly appreciated :-)

might be that they need new strut top bearings, as i wouldn't expect the bush to have play unless it's perished, or the struts may need nipped up

the strut rotates as you turn, how much movement? what like...left to right, or wobble?

It moves slightly left to right..would it be the bearings then?:-)

couldn't say for sure would have to be there, but strut top bearings are £10 a side, might be more for you depending on motor factor

Ive just fitted powerflex top mount bushs and new bearings, now feels and drives like a differant car

could be the bearing, or the bush itself, they can break down, if in doubt, change it, top mounts on vws are a common part that needs changing
