Something that I am struggling with in my new superb is the requirement to press the clutch to start the engine. I have had this on previous cars without difficulty but on my new car I find I have to press the clutch all the way to the carpet before the starter will turn, which is way further than I need to press it to change gear. To do this I am having to twist my body slightly so that my left leg can reach far enough to engage the sensor which is uncomfortable. Its even worse for my brother who also drives the car as his legs are shorter than mine.

I would like to raise up the point where it engages a bit, just so its within comfortable reach, so does anyone know if it is adjustable ?

If you don´t want to break your gearbox, you should press the clutch to the carpet - every time!

yes i realized this when i picked mine up last month, picked it up from dealers was going to get the taxi meter fitted but didn't have much fuel in it so went and put some diesel in it came back out and it wouldn't start. got the fright of my life looked at the dials and it said clutch so pushed it fully down and it worked but doesn't bother me as i usually push the clutch down anyways while starting which is what your meant to do, and it stops you starting the car if you are in gear and running into something
