DPF - Where is it?

Featured Replies

Not had a chance to have a proper look under the bonnet and underneath my 4x4 since I got it at the beginning of December, it's been too dark/cold/wet/snowy and as it's a 4x4 it has extra under body protection.

I've had a bit of a poke around under the bonnet and it's even worse than my old mkI, it's like someone has been playing the mechanical version of how many people fit in a mini in the engine bay.

Hopefully I will have chance to have a proper look in the next few weeks but I am principally interested in where the dpf is and what it looks like - I'm assuming a fat bit on the exhaust. If anyone has some piccies of the actual thing it would be very helpful.

Imagine you could put your hand through the ashtray, through the bulkhead to the back of the engine.

It is there.

It can be seen from underneath the car when its up on the ramps

Thanks for that, that's where I suspected it was.

I haven't jacked it up yet, except to wack on the winter wheels about 2 hours after I picked it up, in the rain.
