Octavia Power Steering Leak

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Last night on my way home my car started protesting. It was groaning and my steering was all funny. When I got home I cheked the power steering fluid and it was all frothy. I had a google and a think, dug about in the shed and found some more fluid and topped her up. A bit of full lock one way, then the other and I kept topping it up all was good. I then drove about 5-10 miles and it was protesting again. The level was empty again, OK so I really hane a leak. I topped it up again and reversed the car back and there was a nice puddle under the car.

I had a closer look and its dribbling out from the passenger side Gaiter, so I suspect its a seal on the piston. Can anyone tell me if its new steering rack time and if so how much I should expect?

Plenty cars being broke on here message some1 for one fella

Group1 Rs. Selling one now

I'm on my third leaky one !!
