I am looking for an L+K DSG estate what year was the old PD engine replaced by the more modern CR engine?

2010 onwards my previous octavia elegance mk2 was on 10 plate reg date may 2010 had a pd engine but the cr were being sent out that year also. Just changed to a L+K estate with CR engine MPG deff better and quieter.

2009 as far as I am aware.

There are a few 2008 vRS CR diesels on Autotrader.

How to tell the difference...

Yep 2008 for the VRS, mid 2010 for the 1.6 and 2.0 CR (although we were waiting 5 months plus for them)

2.0l TSI engines: what should I be looking out for AWD vehicles approaching 100k?

Hoping to purchase a 2.0l TSi Sportline/Laurin & Klement variant at some point soon. My budget may result in me seeking out a vehicle with 95K onwards on the clock. I’ll be only considering something with a full comprehensive service history. My understanding is that I shouldn’t worry about cam chain tensioners as they go on and on. But do they? So is there anything I should really looking out for? Thanks

Very confused and apologies if covered elsewhere but can't find it... looking to get a towbar fitted for caravan towing and an independent towbar company is warning about coding and about the rear emergency braking kicking in and not letting me reverse with the caravan in place. Another has said they can fit a towbar but I'd need to take it to a dealer to get it coded. I've contacted my local skoda dealer and they've quoted £1900 for a towbar to be fitted!! ..and lost! I was reversing out of their drive last night and never saw the small gate post, tried to turn, heard a bang and then, well, you can see from the pics. So mad at myself but left it until this morning to have another look at it. Pics 1 & 2 were mostly on the skirt and that has all come off with just washing it down with a sponge. However, Pic 3 shows where I hit the post whilst turning. Most of it has come off (Pic 4 & 5) but there is a slight dent and plastic bit in the whee

My recent (non-Skoda) cars have given dashboard warnings when the battery in the key fob runs down. This gives the driver the opportunity to change the battery and to keep the key functional. The battery in my Superb's key fob recently ran down, and it went from fully operational (working the button "plip" as well as the keyless entry) to completely flat during the course of a day at work. Hey guys, I need to keep a 2kg fire extinguisher in my car due to legal requirements in Greece and I’m trying to figure out the best mounting spot. My main concern is securing it properly so it doesn’t rattle or move around while driving. I’d love to hear from anyone who’s dealt with this — where did you mount yours, and did you use a dedicated bracket or holder?
