Some quick questions

Featured Replies

Hi all hope everyone is well firstly I was wondering what the cost is for a full service at skoda or an independent? Also the cost of front discs fitted?

Now I also have a slight whine in 1st and 2nd gear at low revs? And also it sounds a bit tapety?

Advice or opinions welcome as new to skoda! I have a vrs tfsi with 64 k on the clock

Cheers guys

When you say full service do you mean fixed or variable? What is your car set to?

Fixed = 12 months or 10,000 miles, whichever is reached first - best suited to low annual mileage, short / infrequent journey's.

Variable = Up to 24 months or 20,000 miles (car monitors distance, cold starts, oil viscosity etc.) - best suited to high mileage, motorway driving.

Skoda has a national pricing policy which means you should never pay more than £129 for a minor/fixed service or £249 for a major/variable service...

Click on the maintenance tab for pricing on brakes too, front discs and pads is £249 (pads should always be changed at the same time as the discs).

It is likely you will pay slightly less at an independant although at least with Skoda you know you are getting genuine parts and the work is guaranteed.

When was it last serviced? Fresh oil might quieten the engine. The gearbox whine isn't good though, I'd maybe price up a gearbox oil change too...

Fantastic silver 1011 cheers for the advice

just got a full service + MOT quote from local indie and was £280-£300

Local Skoda was £299 - but their premier plus service was negotiable (where they check suspension and clutch, for example - which I need looking at)

Mine is 35k and have had service every 12 months
