Off to Afghan for 7 months and have to leave the vrs at work as the wife can't drive. As its being left for so long I want to disconnect the battery and leave it indoors for the duration, will this cause any problems eg: ecu problems etc. many thanks in advance.

The ideal solution would be leave the car hooked upto a maintence charger like a CTEK which will keep the battery charged and conditions

Disconnecting the battery shouldn't cause any issues though

I had mine off for a couple of months and it didn't hurt it

wont hurt it if its nice and dry spray bit of wd40 over the engine bay keep any damp out and it makes it look nice

Put the car on axel stands as well to avoid flat spotting the tyres
