Hello, when using the remote, 9 times out of 10, the drivers door only wont unlock. I can see the pin move a bit but not enough to open it. It seems to lock every time with the remote though??

Any ideas? is it just a new solenoid required?

Sounds like door locking module is on the way out. Another common VAG failing part. There is a guide to change at the top of this Octavia 1 forum, look for 'Microswitches'.

A couple of us have just fitted the pattern parts one for £40 off ebay, which seems to work fine. Better than spending £35 on a second hand one, which is going to to have been used a fair bit by now.
