Installing an aftermarket radio, aerial adapter question

Featured Replies

Hi,

Need some help, I will be installing an aftermarket radio, I have ordered a new fascia from and iso plug adapters from ebay. I am not sure if I need amplified aerial adapter PC5-137 or a standard one PC5100?

Is there an easy way to tell without taking out the radio?

This is the aerial adaptor I am looking at

I went with the amplified one, going to fit it the weekend if I get time. Wondering now though, if the canbus controls the power and this has no canbus interface, am I going to end up with a flat battery?

you MUST use the amplified one.

If not you wont have very good reception at all. The oem aerial is amplified but when you fit an adaptor and remove the oem headunit you loose the amplified bit
