Creaking Noise

Featured Replies

I occasionaly get a creaking noise just I am moving off. I have a 1.9TDi Elegance 2004 model. Is this anything to worry about?

Cheers,

Paul

Could be the ABS doing a test.

they all do it! lol its the rust that builds up on the discs nothing to worry about my friends vrs needs a good shunt before the breaks loosen up

Does this creak happen every time you move off, or just the first time?

It doesn't always happen when I move off. I only hear it sometimes. I have also heard it when I have slowed down to go over speed bumps.

Maybe your ARB, although I think that's more of a knock than a creak, or maybe the ARB/suspension bushes?

I get this occasionally, especially after washing the car. My drive is quite steep and one time after cleaning my alloys the car didn't even roll back when I released the handbrake. I had to put it in reverse and accelerate to loosen it, the noise was god-awful - like I just ripped the brake pads off! :thumbdwn:
