Bugger! ESP.

Featured Replies

Light on not going off :(

5.5yr old and never been to a main dealer since it was 3 :(

Just bought a code reader to double check how big a bill I'm in for.

I'll think I'll mod the ESP light to show "£" instead of the skid marks.

no doubt you'll have skid marks in your kecks when you get the bill :(

Isn't this the standard Teves Mk60 issue?

I thought the kit is now quite cheap even if you can't get the dealer to sort it for free.

The repair kit is only £190.... i say ONLY but you know how much these are new lol.

£200 is still a lot of money to me even after the BoE doing a Zimbabwe.

And there is fitting after that.

But yes ~£400 is better than £1500 and I suppose a selling point for the car since it'll be done.

I'm still hoping for another couple of years out of it.

Could be a rear wheel bearing. Seen loads of cars with these failing including mine. They have abs ring built in so when they go it will bring up abs traction and tmps

strangely it did that last week and again today. restarting clears the abs and tps but not the esp. code reader on order so we'll see.

Could well be the wheel bearing.

I have the esp,abs and tcs light going on and off. My mechanic reckons its the wheel bearing causing it (grinding its head off). The car is with him now for a lower rear engine mount, wheelbearing, cv joint and service, so I'll know tomorrow.

Knowing my luck this week it'll be the wheel bearing AND the ABS module.

Well my luck seems to be staying steadily bad

G201 pressure sensor fault + intermittent ABS sensor fault on LR wheel.

The ABS sensor fault at least will clear.

I had the same problem for a few weeks, so today went to replace the rear left sensor, un did the Allen key bolt and then with my fingers went to take the old sensor out for it to snap in half, leaving the sensor stuck in the hub. Not happy.

Well Teves replacement bought (£166)

Rear ABS sensor bought (£50)

Phoned up local VAG indy specialist (new garage for first time in 10yr gulp). Seemed a decent chap, swore lots about Skoda not offering 100% good will to everyone when VW are.

Then said Rear ABS will almost certainly be the hub rotting (just like others have said).

Not surprised but, bugger!

Yep, it was the ABS ring on mine (similar age of car) which the mechanic seemed well familiar with. Cost around £65 for the hub.
